You are not your experience. You don’t change very fast but your experience does. When we struggle with psychological problems like depression, anxiety and panic we often lose sight of the space between our emotions and the events of the world. We assume that our feelings are a genuine representation of reality. emotions are not a very good guide to reality at all.
Feelings are not facts.
Feeling something does not make it true. And feeling something intensely does not make it even more true. Conversely feeling something mildly does not mean that it is not important or meaningful.
Feeling are best used as a guide to action but not as a hard and fast rule.
